| Course Description | Public health science and practice require professionals who can design, implement and interpret data from routine statistics, research studies, and monitoring and evaluation programs. The Advanced Certificate in Public Health Research Methods exposes students to a range of research and data science approaches including study design, analysis and interpretation. Students across each of the 6 MSPH departments can complete the certificate requirements in a highly customized way, selecting from a range of qualitative, quantitative and population focused methods courses that build on the methodological training in the MPH Core and their Department-specific methods training. This seminar is designed to integrate knowledge across the methodological approaches they have been studying and applying. Through 4 structured in-person sessions and an asynchronous self assessment, students will share their experiences across the first academic year, identify gaps in their skills set that can be addressed in their final semester, and integrate knowledge across the research designs, data collection methods, and analytical skills through group problem solving and faculty-led exercises. |
